The poufs are among our favorite pieces in the shop. Not only because they are unique and fit into almost any decorating style, but because they carry on a piece of tradition. The original kilims, and thus our poufs as well, are woven using techniques passed down from generations. These traditional techniques ensure the durability of each piece. By purchasing each pouf, we support local artists and believe this can be a way to preserve ancient traditions and qualities.

Poufs made from vintage kilims

A kilim is a traditional oriental rug found in many Arab countries. The style and color choices vary from country to country. They are usually woven from sheep's wool and dyed with local plants and minerals, resulting in beautiful tones and colors.

Our vintage pieces were hand-woven by Moroccan artisans to create a unique pouf from an original rug – no two will be alike! The front and sides of the floor cushion are made from vintage rugs, while the back (with zipper) is made from woven kilim fabric. The unusual patterns and colors are part of the modern boho look and bring a Moroccan holiday feeling to your interior.

Boucherouite, or recycled rugs, are unique. They are made from whatever materials the artist has at his disposal. From recycled old clothes like T-shirts to carpets, anything is possible.
